In the early twentieth-century Russia is not easy to commit suicide. Semjon Podsekalnikov knows, a young unemployed with fixes for tuba and sausage. Between the wife and mother-in-law that beset the powers that the Soviets trying to take their side, and a group of quirky neighbors, we must choose who to listen, and whether it is better to save the life or face .
The show comes at the end of the drama workshop organized by the youth center Area, which for months has involved a dozen boys who are now put to the test. The text has been brilliantly reinvented by directors Peter and Paul Carotta Vicentini, which have sought to test a solution that would allow all players to remain together on stage, organized on two different levels. In the original play it was possible to add so many new gags, that are sure to tickle the audience's attention.
The open rehearsal of "The Suicide" will be staged on Friday, June 8 at Area Street Theatre in Vason 2 Piedicastello (TN).
